Kalliopi Paridi

Καλλιόπη Παρίδη

Allow me to introduce myself!

Kalliopi Paridi, but most children get to call me ‘Methognosia’. Born and raised in Cyprus, nature’s wicked things powered my curiosity as a child that led me to study Physics at the university (BSc Physics). I have completed a MA in Learning Physical Sciences, a MSc Curriculum and Instruction and a MEd program in Instructional Leadership. I am currently a PhD candidate studying forms of embodied cognition fostering Physics conceptual learning.

Professionally, I have experience as a science teaching advisor in the school practicum program for university students, as a physics teacher in the private sector and as an assistant researcher in research programs. I have also experience as workshop and exhibition facilitator and science leader for informal education programs.

My biggest aspiration is to inspire scientific creativity in young people, which is necessary for societal and educational change. I can see the forest school as a unique pathway for scientific thinking early-on in a learners’ life through authentic inquiry.
