Pavlina Platonos

Pavlina Platonos, architect in the profession, with a bachelor’s degree at Frederick University in Cyprus and a master’s degree at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China.

My concern and interest about the environment led me to reactivate the forest team of Lympia (Φιλοδασικός Σύνδεσμος Λυμπιών). Thus far, we planted around 5000 trees and plants through my initiative to organize group tree plantings in our village. I am an activist and volunteer starting from my village with such activities as creating community gardens, cultivating and exchanging traditional seeds. I also invest time to raise awareness to my fellow villagers about sense of responsibility and forethought about public space by “spreading” artistic interventions on public walls of my community.

While practicing the profession of an architect, I also work on releasing my own brand. My philosophy is producing cosmetics and soaps with the main ingredient being local olive oil.

I also attended the permaculture course, which inspired me and my husband to cultivate our little field every summer, distributing fruits and vegetables to our family and fellow villagers.

Moreover, I am a member of Forest School’s team because I want to contribute and support the idea of kids learning in nature from nature.
